NPR has helped to keep me sane for the last four years of stay-at-home-momdom, and is often the primary source of other adult voices that I hear all day long. Thank goodness for that.

  • "Fifty Years of a Religion With No Creed"-- I've long been intrigued by the Unitarian Universalist church, and I was happy to catch some of this segment on Interfaith Voices, a show I like to listen to here and there, believe it or not. • "Mrs. Mallard Celebrates 70 Years Of Safer Streets"-- If you ever take a trip to Boston with young children, the Public Garden is a MUST visit spot. A toddler JAM and I posed for a photo with Mrs. Mallard years ago, and this All Things Considered story made me smile.
  • "Doctors To Pregnant Women: Wait At Least 39 Weeks"-- Okay, we may try our best not to be judgmental, but I have to admit that I scoffed big time when I heard this All Things Considered story and a few of the quoted mothers talking about the reasons they scheduled medically unnecessary c-sections. Guess what? Pregnancy and parenthood are simply not meant to be "convenient." This is my unofficial must read link of the week.
