Yes, that's right, we're getting the heck out of Dodge.
Since I've got a to-do list a mile long to complete before departure, the next two and a half days will be filled with accomplishment. (I hope.) There are kids to babysit, reviews to write, floors to keep clean and bags to pack. Then we will head north to one of two rented houses, and live like the other half do for a few days. There will be swimming, and it will not be preceded by fifteen minutes of applying sunblock to others or wrangling goggles onto little heads. It may even occur at night, in the dark, beside a blazing fire. There will be consumption of food and drink without the need to coerce anyone into eating his carrots. There will be napping, but I won't have to tuck anyone in since I'll be the one catching some ZZZs. There will be movie watching, but it won't be animated. There will be raucous and rowdy laughter and game playing, and I will be responsible for getting exactly zero people calmed down afterward.
It will be delightful.
Counting down,
