holla happy at the hubby!

On this day thirty-ahem years ago, a baby boy entered the world, and it simply hasn't been the same since.  While I may not have been aware of his existence until seventeen years ago, I had always hoped that he was actually out there.  I'm happy to say that we've spent another June 10th together, celebrating his existence, and I'm taking a moment to give a bloggy birthday shout out to my handsome hubby!!  (He's what you can call an 'intermittent blogger,' fyi, in case you click over.)

While he would have loved to have taken a day off from work today to experience something like this:

...instead, his day was spent focusing on thinking about this:

(Yes, that's our dining room back wall; and yes, those are five holes cut in the middle of it; and yes, that's a crappy copper pipe that has several pinhole leaks; and yes, that's a disgusting amount of mold in the hole; and yes, for what it's worth, the holes are covered up for the time being with plastic while we wait for more estimates before getting the replacement work going.)

So unfortunately, it has been a birthday wracked with stress, but hopefully his evening jaunt to the Yankee game with his dad and JAM will bring some much needed joy to his birthday.  (Sure, I realize that the game is being played at Camden Yards, but I learned long ago- any game the NYY are playing is "the Yankee game" regardless of home field.)

The words happy birthday may not have been easy to take in today, since there was much worry, stress and disorder to the day, but they'll have to do in order to wish my lovely hubby a fabulous birthday!

Sure, I've used this pic before, I believe, but it's a perfect one to showcase the awesome birthday boy!

Happy birthday babe!

  1. O.k., that photo of your wall is HEARTBREAKING! I hope the damage isn't too extensive and the stress is minimal.

And happy birthday to your hubby. Great family shot!

  3. Oh yes! We put plastic over the holes in our dining room too. Because it's so much less white trash that way, right? Or it keeps plaster from randomly dispersing itself in your food.

Wishing you a peaceful, problem-free home soon. Or at least, a really good interest rate!
